How fun would it be to design your ideal Bay Area transit network, while competing against your friends to build the most seamless system? Seamless supporters will soon be able to find out!

Today, Seamless Bay Area is launching our Kickstarter campaign for Connect the Bay, our region’s first seamless transit board game, in which players compete to create an integrated transit network to help Bay Area residents and visitors travel seamlessly around the region.

Anyone who rides transit in the Bay Area has ideas about how our region’s transit network could be improved—from seamless connections to integrated fares to prioritized lanes for transit. With Connect the Bay, players can bring their Bay Area transit vision to life, competing to strategically place homes, jobs, and activity centers to create a more seamless Bay Area. By making moves to reduce transit delays and install dedicated bus lanes, players can make getting around the region even more seamless. The player who builds the most connections wins.

Created by renowned game designer and artist Alfred Twu in partnership with Seamless Bay Area, the game board is modeled off of our integrated fare vision map, a proposal for a unified and equitable fare system that would make our region’s transit easier to understand and navigate.

Currently, Bay Area transit riders face extra fares and long waits when making trips across multiple agencies. Our Connect the Bay game simulates how a more seamless system – with smooth connections and standardized fare zones – could help the people of the Bay Area to reach more places.

In Connect the Bay, players compete to strategically place homes, jobs, and activity centers to create a more seamless Bay Area.

In addition to helping Bay Area residents and transit riders envision how our region’s complex and fragmented transit system could be improved, this 30-minute game is also a great way to share your love of transit with friends and family.

Supporters of our Kickstarter campaign can contribute at a variety of funding levels. Your support will help us finalize our board game design and fund the production of digital and hard copy games and goodies to share with you and other Seamless fans!
